Please reach us at kbwaxing@yahoo.com or 970-581-3940 if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Cosmetic tattooing is considered permanent because it is implanted in the dermal layer. However, pigments are designed to fade over time if implanted properly. Factors such as skin type, lifestyle, age, metabolism and medication will affect the tattoos longevity. The sun and some types of skin medications and skin products can break down the pigment at a faster rate. It is VERY important that you follow before and aftercare instructions. Permanent makeup is not maintenance free! As the pigment fades you may have to add your favorite color until your next touchup. Touchups are recommended every 1-2 years, not when pigment starts to fade. Final results vary and CAN NOT be guaranteed due to the nature of the skin as it heals.

Topical lidocaine cream is used to make you comfortable during your permanent cosmetic procedure. However, pain tolerance varies from person to person. Every effort is made to ensure the client remains comfortable during the procedure. Having the procedure during your menstrual cycle may increase your sensitivity.

Permanent hair strokes heal best on normal to dry young skin. Hair strokes will not work well on clients with oily skin, large pores, thin skin or previous cosmetic tattoos. Results may appear softer and powdery with oily skin and larger pores. Clients who want a more defined look may be happier choosing to have the shading done as well as the strokes. In some cases, more mature beauties can have some front strokes implanted but in most cases I only do a powder brow due to thinner skin.

The hair stroke method is designed to blend with your natural brow hair. The more hair you have, the more realistic results will appear. If you have very little or sparse eyebrow hair the results will appear flatter and you may need shading and more than two sessions to achieve your desired results.  Permanent brows are not meant to entirely replace make up. Eyebrow pencils and powders may still be needed.

  • Allergy to Lidocaine, Tetracaine, Benzocaine or Epinephrine.
  • Are currently undergoing cancer treatment.
  • Must be off Chemo or Radiation for 1 year.

  • Oily skin: increased oil production will cause hair strokes to blur and heal lighter and powdery.
  • Smoking: smokers may notice that their permanent make up will fade faster. Also, pigment color may turn ashy.
  • Anemia and iron deficiency: your body will absorb the iron-based pigments more quickly.
  • Sun exposure: increased exposure to the sun will cause premature fading. Once you are fully healed, you will want to use sunscreen for your permanent makeup.
  • Age, skin density, elasticity and metabolism.
  • Bleeding during the procedure will greatly affect pigment retention. It is extremely important that you follow before instructions to help minimize bleeding.
  • Some colors fade quicker than others, as well as the amount of pigment applied in the dermal layer. Brows with a lighter, more subtle look will fade out quicker than a darker, more dramatic application.
  • Anti-Aging products with glycolic, salicylic and retinols as well as mechanical or chemical treatments will lighten the pigment faster.
  • Scars and scar tissue is harder to implant pigment into and may require multiple sessions.
  • Weak aftercare

  • Please feel free to bring reference pictures along with the pencil/powder you are currently using.
  • More detailed before instructions regarding the procedure you scheduled will be sent to you via text 2 weeks before your appointment.
  • Do not workout the day of your appointment.

  • Do not drink alcohol within 24 hours of your appointment.
  • Avoid caffeine for 8 hours before your appointment.
  • No CBD/THC 12 hours before your appointment.
  • ABSOLUTELY no sweating, pools, lakes, saunas, hot tubs, steam, saltwater or sun exposure during your healing time so plan accordingly for vacations or a special event.
  • No Botox 2 weeks before or after your appointment. No fillers, microdermabrasion, chemical peels or anything of the sort 4 weeks before or after your appointment.  Please be mindful scheduling any beauty appointments as well during healing. Massages, facials, lash extensions, etc.
  • You will be more sensitive during your menstrual cycle.
  • Smoking will affect healing, color and pigment retention.

In the hours following your procedure, your permanent makeup will appear much darker and bolder due to oxidation in the dermal layer of your skin. It could also appear much warmer in color. You may experience some redness and swelling and tenderness in the treated area. This typically resolves within 48 hours.

Around day 5, you may notice some light scabbing and flaking. DO NOT PICK! Doing so will result in loss of pigment. Your procedure may appear spotty or patchy until the entire area has finished healing. You may notice that some areas will appear very light or uneven after they have peeled. The epidermis will be thicker, causing muting, hiding or diffusing of the pigment underneath. The epidermis will normalize over the next 4 to 6 weeks, and softened pigment should appear more clearly on the surface of the skin.

Your permanent makeup will be fully healed at 4-6 weeks.  Whatever pigment does not return will be addressed at your touchup appointment. I can always add more color or thickness!

Home care instructions and products will be given during your initial appointment.

YES! All permanent cosmetic procedures require 2 sessions (sometimes 3). I will assess your pigment retention at your follow-up and make any adjustments needed. The touchup also increases the longevity of your permanent makeup.

If you are in need of correction work or have had permanent makeup done elsewhere, you will need to schedule a consultation.  If you are out of town, we could do a phone consultation and I will need well lit, clear pictures sent via text before booking. Please keep in mind if you schedule an appointment and I am not able to work on the area you will lose your deposit and will be charged 20% of the appointent cost. NO EXCEPTIONS!

Due to space restrictions and maintaining a sterile environment in the treatment area, I DO NOT allow the client to be accompanied by additional friends or family and no children. If you are in need of assistance for your appointment, please reach out to discuss. Thank you for your understanding.
